He said that if the new Constitution does not get 2/3rd majority then it will not be passed.The Prime Minister also insisted that there was no move to divide the country through the new Constitution. (Colombo Gazette) However he said that what has been submitted are only proposals and a draft of the Constitution itself has not been prepared. Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe today admitted that a new Constitution for Sri Lanka is still a long way ahead.Speaking at an event in Galle today the Prime Minister said that various opinions have been expressed over the reports on the new Constitution submitted to Parliament so far. Wickremesinghe also said that he is not sure if the new Constitution will obtain 2/3rd majority support in Parliament.
GE Transportation celebrated a significant milestone with the roll out of its 500th Minecruiser vehicle. An Mk7.0 TIER 3 Minecruiser, the latest version of underground coal mining transporters, will be delivered to Centennial Coal, which fields 24 of the vehicles. Developed to transport up to 14 coal mining personnel underground, the MK7.0 TIER 3 Minecruiser includes and advanced explosion-protection system and also reduces emissions and increases power output with mechanically injected diesel engine technology.Dan Shelley, Integration Leader at GE Mining said “We continue to bring enhanced safety and productivity solutions to customers through production of best-in-class mining equipment and services.”The Minecruiser was introduced by Industrea, a company acquired by GE Mining in November 2012 for $700 million. The acquisition, which included equipment manufacturing and servicing operations in Australia and China, has allowed GE Mining to offer more efficient, highly productive and low-emission equipment to its global mining customers.
