TripAdvisor Air Travel survey reveals travel trends

first_imgTripAdvisor has announced the results of its second annual Air Travel Survey, with discomfort the biggest gripe among passengers.However, in-flight entertainment saw the biggest improvement for the survey 4,800 Australian respondents.Australians are also planning many more trips for the remainder of 2014, with 87 per  cent planning to travel domestically, up from 84 per cent in 2013 and 86 per cent planning to travel internationally.TripAdvisor regional director flights, APAC Andrew Wong said that the survey produced mixed results.“Demand for domestic and international travel continues to rise despite some persistent air travel frustrations, such as uncomfortable seats or unpredictable flight changes but we are also seeing some positive signs as flyers report better in-flight entertainment and check-in processes that help improve the traveller experience,” Mr Yong said.The top 5 qualms with air travel for 2014 were uncomfortable seats or legroom (70 per cent), loud or crying children (42 per cent), costly airline fees (37 per cent), long security lines (35 per cent), and flight cancellations.The top 5 improvements for the respondents are better in-flight entertainment (55 per cent), better streamlined checking-in process (52 per cent), easier booking (50 per cent), more affordable flights (46 per cent) and a more streamlined booking process (38 per cent).Source = ETB News: Tom Nealelast_img read more
