Antuan Goodwin/Roadshow It certainly wouldn’t be Monterey Car Week without a flood of new concept cars and supercars. Lamborghini didn’t disappoint and revealed not one but two models on Friday. First up is the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ 63 Roadster. Naturally, it follows the SVJ 63 Coupe revealed previously and it’s also limited to, as the name implies, 63 units globally. The production figure corresponds with the Italian firm’s founding year of 1963. Any 1 percenters looking to add a new supercar to the garage will have the chance to select one of eight design motifs for the SVJ 63 Roadster, though the photos depict the matte gray Grigio Acheso with orange details. The car also sports a set of matte titanium wheels and a special carbon-fiber part that covers roof, engine cover, engine air vents, windshield surround and mirrors. There will be no mistaking this special edition for any other Aventador as it wears a “63” livery inside and out, too. The cockpit of this Aventador SVJ 63 Roadster features gray and orange to match the exterior, though it shares other elements with the seven additional design motifs. Each of the 63 cars will come with tri-tone Alcantara upholstery, carbon-fiber trim and a steering-wheel badge to mark the SVJ 63 Roadster’s significance. Like all other SVJs, a 6.5-liter V12 makes 760 horsepower. Enlarge ImageLamborghini is proud of its racing success so far, so it made a tribute model. Antuan Goodwin/Roadshow If the Aventador SVJ 63 isn’t flashy enough for you, the Huracan EVO GT Celebration should do the trick. It honors the Huracan EVO GT3 race car that’s come off of two banner racing seasons, including two consecutive wins at the 24 Hours of Daytona and 12 Hours of Sebring. The company said it will build 36 of these cars — the sum of 24 and 12 to represent the EVO GT3’s dominance on the track. The wild green and orange livery is meant to evoke the GRT Grasser Racing Team livery, which is one of the teams that’s contributed to Lamborghini’s winning streak. I admit, it’s rather polarizing, but the company said there are eight other combinations to choose from with three other colors. No matter which color, the livery style stays the same, as does the racing number 11. Badging and vinyl also mark the race car’s championship wins on the sides and near the engine bay. Finally, the Lamborghini Squadra Shield is an option for the roof with the Italian and US flags framing it. Meanwhile, the interior features the shield, flags and laurel as standard equipment and color-contrast stitching depending on which color scheme an owner chooses. Like other Huracáns, a V10 provides the power. A shame if you’re not local to North America because other global buyers won’t have the chance to own an Huracan EVO GT Celebration. Simone tone” on Instagram, her improvisational comedy on “Wild ‘N Out” or her music, B. Simone is becoming a name to know and remember. The entertainer with 2.1 million followers on Instagram is now on a nationwide comedy tour that is making a stop in D.C. on Dec. 26, and she is inviting people to come learn more about her and have a fun night of laughs.“It’s about my life, my personal life. My comedy’s about my relationship, sex life, what I’ve been going through with men and it’s just super relatable. And I’ve turned tragedy and heartbreak into comedy,” B. Simone told the AFRO.Instagram and “Wild ‘N Out” star B. Simone will be in D.C. on Dec. 28 at City Winery in Northeast, D.C.The rising star has not always been a comedienne, but she has always been an entertainer.“I come from a background of girl groups and R&B pop singing. So I started off wanting to be a singer honestly. I’ve been in five girl groups. I moved to Atlanta from Dallas to pursue music and acting. And social media is what made me a comedienne,” she said.Even in the earlier days of social media, with sites such as MySpace, B. Simone was active.“I’ve been doing it a long time before Instagram. I’ve been on Instagram for almost four or five years. So it’s not like I just blew up overnight. It took me a while to get to this point, and it’s consistency and constantly putting out content,” she said.However, it has only been recently, through her Instagram fame, that she gained recognition and became a true comedienne.“I started doing ranting videos,” she told the AFRO. “I didn’t even know it was comedy, I was talking to the camera about relatable topics and my followers just thought I was funny. I was just being myself, so they made me a comedienne,” the millennial entertainer explained.This is B. Simone’s first time taking her comedy on the road.“I’ve been on stage with people who have been doing standup for 20, 15, 10 years. I’ve only been doing standup for 11 months. So I’m very new at it, but I have the privilege of growing with my fans,” she told the AFRO.Despite being a neophyte to the comedy game, from the looks of the sold out shows, her first tour is going well.“Almost every single show has been sold out, and it’s just an amazing, amazing experience,” B. Simone said.B. How is she going to sell tickets?’ And they just had to have faith that my fans are going to come out and support.Simone, who is doing her own promo for the show, thanked Instagram and her followers for her success on and off the road. She isn’t fazed by the haters who question her trajectory, “just because she’s Instagram famous.”“It just shows that you can do anything you want to do. The world is different,” she said. “But I’m going to use my platform to make money. And the world is going to excel and move forward.“I’m going to use it and I’m going to move forward in a positive light. I don’t take any of it for granted. I say it all the time- Instagram put me in a different mindset of what I can really, really do. I’ve touched so many people,” she told the AFRO.“So I encourage young Black women to use it to your advantage. I don’t care if you’re a doctor, and you need more people in your doctor’s office, or if you’re an actress… That platform is needed for whatever occupation you’re in,” she said.The entertainer is also an entrepreneur. A licensed cosmetologist who practiced 15 years, B. Simone is launching an upcoming vegan, cruelty-free makeup line and encouraged her followers to stay tuned for when its released.In the meantime, the comedienne is grinding on the road with the “You’re My Boooyfriend Comedy Tour” featuring Desi Banks, with whom she famously collaborates on skits, and “Wild ‘N Out” co-star Darren Brand. Google doesn’t release how many videos are on the service but says that content removed in Q4 2017 represented just “a fraction of a percent of YouTube’s overall views,” and that the ratio has been steadily decreasing over the last five quarters.Meanwhile, even as YouTube’s beefed-up content flagging program identifies and blocks millions of out-of-bounds videos, it still faces an ongoing brand-safety issue: Advertising is still showing up in material that marketers do not want to be associated with. Commercials for more than 300 companies and government organizations were running on YouTube videos “promoting white nationalists, Nazis, pedophilia, conspiracy theories and North Korean propaganda,” according to a CNN report last week.Google CEO Sundar Pichai cited YouTube’s progress in combating content violators on Alphabet’s first-quarter 2018 earnings call Monday.“Even as we invest in new experiences, we stay very focused on making sure that YouTube remains a safe platform with great content,” Pichai said. “We are aggressively combating content that violates our strict policies through a combination of user and machine flags.”Pichai also touted YouTube’s continued momentum: In the last year, channels that earn $100,000 or more per year grew more than 40%. He also noted Dua Lipa’s video “New Rules” became the 100th video on YouTube to reach 1 billion views and highlighted YouTube’s Coachella live-stream it was viewed more than 41 million views. “No surprise, Beyoncé was the most-viewed Coachella performance ever on YouTube,” he said.YouTube plans to release a regular quarterly report on how it’s enforcing Community Guidelines. The video platform says it has already improved its auto-detection of content violations over the past year. For example, at the beginning of 2017, 8% of the videos removed for “violent extremism” were taken down with fewer than 10 views; after YouTube rolled out machine-learning flagging in June 2017, in Q4 more than half of the videos removed for violent extremism have fewer than 10 views. Computer-based detection is no silver bullet, though, and YouTube said that deploying machine learning “actually means more people reviewing content, not fewer.” Across all of Google, the company plans to boost the size of its content-review team to 10,000 by the end of 2018. (By comparison, Facebook has said it’s aiming to double the size of its security and safety group by year-end, to 20,000 workers.)In addition, YouTube noted that it is collaboration with more than 150 partners in academia, government agencies, and non-governmental orgs to refine its content-enforcement systems. YouTube, stung by a string of scandals involving ads discovered running in offensive content, released new figures aimed at showing that its efforts to strip out content that runs afoul of its policies are working.The Google-owned video giant released its first YouTube Community Guidelines Enforcement Report on Monday (at this link), detailing the results of its content-removal program for the fourth quarter of 2017.According to YouTube, it pulled down 8.3 million videos over the three-month period. Most of those were spam or “people attempting to upload adult content.” Notably, YouTube said, 6.7 million were first flagged for review by computers — rather than human editors.
